Mbali Xolo, Participant Manager
Mitchell & McCallum, Get Dignity First Care
I found my way into the disability sector by accident while I was studying at university—and I’m so glad I did. What started as a part-time job quickly turned into something I genuinely loved. Supporting people, building real connections, and making sure their needs are met just clicked with me. I ended up taking a gap year to complete a Certificate III in Individual Support, and that decision shaped my career.
Since then, I’ve worked with participants of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities—including physical, sensory, intellectual, developmental, and mental health-related disabilities. I’ve held a variety of roles, including Area Coordinator, where I managed multiple homes, supported participants with their goals, and worked closely with families, staff, and other service providers. For me, it’s all about helping people feel empowered to make their own choices and live the life they want.
Along the way, I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminology at Murdoch University, and I’m currently studying my Master’s in Counselling. I’m passionate about understanding people, advocating for better support, and bringing a mix of practical experience and academic insight to the work I do—especially in the youth, disability and child safety space. I'm all about real impact, genuine care, and helping create communities that feel safe, inclusive, and full of opportunity.
